Overview
BRAX MATRIX ML80 PRO
A new chapter in precision and natural sound
With the MATRIX ML80 PRO, BRAX elevates midrange reproduction to an entirely new level. As the completely re-engineered successor to the MATRIX ML3, it continues the same uncompromising philosophy – yet with an all-new concept, state-of-the-art materials, and meticulous attention to detail.
The result is a midrange speaker that reproduces music with absolute purity, dynamics, and emotional depth.
Carbon fleece multilayer cone – light, rigid, and resonance-free
The newly developed carbon fleece multilayer cone of the ML80 PRO was designed and manufactured in close collaboration with renowned specialist Dr. Kurt Müller. Its layered carbon structure combines extreme stiffness with minimal mass, effectively reducing unwanted resonances.
A specially shaped reinforcement collar on the rear – directly at the transition to the surround – significantly increases torsional stiffness and prevents deformation even at high excursion levels. The straight cone geometry at the voice coil former optimizes power transfer and ensures exceptionally precise and controlled sound radiation.
The finely textured front coating with a closed-pore surface gives the cone an elegant, silk-matte appearance with a refined tactile feel while guaranteeing maximum dimensional stability and long-term durability.
Fascinating soundstage through stainless-steel phase plug
The solid stainless-steel phase plug optimizes the dispersion characteristics of the ML80 PRO and minimizes interference within the midrange. The result is an even sound dispersion that enables precise, linear reproduction across the entire frequency range.
High-damping butyl surround for maximum precision
The high-damping surround is made from premium butyl rubber. Thanks to its excellent damping properties, it effectively suppresses unwanted resonances in the surround area and significantly enhances the overall performance of the driver. In addition, the material’s outstanding temperature resistance ensures reliable performance and long-term durability, even under demanding conditions.
Perfection down to the finest detail
The aerodynamically shaped aluminum die-cast basket ensures ideal voice coil ventilation and minimizes airflow turbulence within the chassis. The compact and powerful push-pull neodymium magnet system offers outstanding magnetic linearity and extremely low distortion – the foundation for ultimate control, accurate dynamics, and impressive power handling.
The high-strength Nomex spider provides consistently precise centering and long-term mechanical stability thanks to its exceptionally rigid and form-stable fabric.
Exclusive design and uncompromising manufacturing quality – Made in Germany
Like all loudspeakers of the BRAX MATRIX series, the ML80 PRO is manufactured with the highest precision, individually measured and paired, and assigned a unique serial number documented in the BRAX database.
The optional BRAX MATRIX MR3 stainless-steel support ring with matching grille offers an elegant and secure mounting solution for perfect system integration.
Each ML80 PRO is meticulously handcrafted Made in Germany – a statement of uncompromising manufacturing quality and genuine passion for perfect sound. Every pair is delivered in an elegant, tailor-made wooden box, emphasizing the exclusive character of these exceptional loudspeakers down to the very last detail.
